Handheld gaming consoles have become a lot more common than one might think and that is for all the right reasons. Nintendo Switch may have started a trend where we are getting some really impressive offerings from various companies, both big and small. Take the Logitech G Cloud as a stellar option, then we also have the Steam Deck, Asus' ROG Ally, and so many more. Now, Ayn has announced the Ayn Odin 2o, the latest handheld console packed with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Which happens to be one of the best mobile chipsets that you can currently get your hands on.
Earlier this year, Ayn revealed the Loki, which is an impressive, higher-end offering, either Intel or AMD CPUs, and comparatively, the Odin 2 looks to be a more affordable alternative at $299. Sadly, we don't know many details at the time of writing aside from the fact that the new handheld will bring, but based on images we have seen so far, it looks like Loki, which is not a bad thing at all.
Now, the $299 for Ayn Odin 2 is going to net you the base model with 8 gigs of RAM and 256 gigs of storage. You can go for 12/256 and 16/512 gigs variants as well, should you choose to go with.
I am really looking forward to see just what Ayn Odin 2 brings to the table. I am a PC gamer through and through but the idea of a handheld gaming console always tempted me. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is a powerful chipset, so that is one thing that people simply cannot sleep on and if you are looking to play various games via emulation or through official means, this upcoming gaming console could be the one that you should be going for.
