Assassin's Creed fans have spotted a cat in Mirage with rather distinctive fur that appears to be a reference to one cat's real-life feline with the same pattern on its face.
While most triple-A games nowadays seem to have an obsession with dogs and letting you pet them, Assassin's Creed is apparently more of a cat person as it has instead focused on letting you pick up and stroke big kitties. Although the cats might be a little smaller than they were in Valhalla, that trend continues in Mirage as Basim can play with a wide variety of feline friends, including one that appears to be a cameo from a fan's cat that sadly passed away.

Over on the Assassin's Creed subreddit, Redditor suckashelfboi101 shared a picture of Basim holding a cat whose fur has a pattern that resembles the Assassin's Creed logo. While sharing the photo, they asked other Assassin's Creed fans if they were "reaching at straws", or if it was something that Ubisoft purposefully added to the game.
While most of the comments already agreed that the pattern on the cat's fur was far too similar to the assassin's order logo to be a coincidence, one of the subreddit's moderators, Treviso, revealed that the cat's pattern was not only a purposeful choice from Unisoft, but that it was also a reference to a fan's cat that they asked the developers to put in the game.
