October's wave of new releases has begun in earnest now, with Assassin's Creed Mirage launching at the end of last week. It climbed near the top of the UK's boxed games chart, making a number two debut behind the predictably popular EA Sports FC 24.
It isn't the only new release in the top 10 — Nintendo's Detective Pikachu Returns debuts in third place — while the remainder is about what you'd expect. Hogwarts Legacy drops two places to fifth, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is back up into sixth, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is up one place at number seven. Mortal Kombat 1 slips from second to eighth.

It would be nice to see how it compares to other Assassin's Creed games in terms of sales. I'm sure we'll find out eventually. I don't think it's done as well as Valhalla, but we'll see. Hope I'm wrong.

Really enjoying Mirage so far. I wish it plenty of success. Is it GotY? No. Is it totally worth playing, however? Absolutely.
