Assassin's Creed has had a lot of ups and downs over the years, but Ubisoft will be hoping that Assassin's Creed Mirage helps steady the ship after an impacted development schedule, and ahead of future instalments like Assassin's Creed Red. Mirage is a return to the series' more traditional formula, with a focus on stealth-based gameplay. After three games' worth of open world RPG adventure, this is what a lot of fans have been asking for — but does it actually hold up?
We were slightly torn in our Assassin's Creed Mirage PS5 review. We gave the title a solid 7/10, concluding: «Assassin's Creed Mirage sets off in search of its roots, and it finds them — both for better and worse. Undeniably basic in its approach to stealth and combat, it feels oddly dated in terms of design, but it's also a refreshing reminder of the series' original strengths.»
