Ashkandur and other Special Effect Weapons in Aberrus Patch 10.1 Raid
In addition to tier sets and trinkets, it seems that the Aberrus raid coming in Dragonflight Patch 10.1 will feature some special effect weapons! So far, Ashkandur, Fall of the Brotherhood is the only weapon with a working cantrip, but we've already datamined a few not yet implemented strings for the unnamed agility polearm as well. Unlike some special effect weapons of the past, Ashkandur retains full stat budget, suggesting the special effect won't be too powerful.Ashkandur, Fall of the Brotherhood is the third incarnation of the popular Ashkandi, Greatsword of the Brotherhood from Blackwing Lair and Reclaimed Ashkandi, Greatsword of the Brotherhood from Blackwing Descent, with six datamined colorations that can be seen in our previous highlight.
It's interesting to note that unlike powerful special effect weapons of the past like Jaithys, the Prison Blade and Gavel of the First Arbiter, Ashkandur appears to retain full primary and secondary stat budget, suggesting that the special effect won't be overwhelmingly powerful — as Blizzard typically removes stats to compensate when an effect is inordinately strong. Although there are only four raid difficulties, we've datamined six different color variants for the sword.
