ArcheWorld Opens Pre-Registrations Ahead of April Launch

XLGames has opened pre-registration for North and South America for ArcheWorld , the upcoming blockchain MMORPG from the developer of ArcheAge . 

The game launched in Asia late last year, and the team has announced that things have been stable, pushing ahead with expansion of the global service. The game will officiallylaunch on April 20th in North and South America. Pre-registration will run through April 19th, during which Land NFT minting is going on.

The pre-registration event follows similar promotions in other games, where you'll be able to sign up and receive some gifts for starting, including the possibility of winning land NFTs for recruiting friends. In the announcement, XL is touting its use of Face Wallet, a special blockchain tech to let people pre-register their wallets and participate without needing any pre-existing crypto knowledge.

Pre-registration here will let you set up one of these wallets and set up security settings to help keep your account secure. Between pre-registration goodies and recruit a friend pushes, there will be rewards. Among them are Land NFTs. In the original launches in Asia 98% of the land NFTs on those servers are in housing related use.

When it comes to blockchain MMOs, there is lingering skepticism based on what audiences have seen before, as well as questions the format presents. Yet, with the projects still on the way, studios are looking to change minds and show what their games can do. In a press release announcing the pre-registration period, XLGames’ CEO Jake Song addresses just that, saying  “ ArcheWorld is trying to acknowledge user's enjoyment of the game as an asset.
