Old School RuneScape has opened up its skill poll that will let the community weigh in on the direction the team should take in elaborating upon a concept for the very first new skill. This week also begins the 2023 Easter event.
Three skill pitches have been made, the concepts revealed, and plenty of community questions answered, and now it’s time to weigh in. The OSRS team pitched three concepts–Sailing, Taming, and Shamanism–as the candidates for further refinement. While the actual process of getting a new skill into the game won’t even be done this year, this is a major step in helping determine the direction to go in.
Refining the concept, broadening everything that goes along with what is chosen, and then coming back for more rounds of feedback and development will take time. However, if this poll leads to a clear favorite, then the team can get started on just how this skill concept can work, and in which ways adding it might change the overworld as a result. In recent community streams and Q&As, the team revealed that whatever skill is chosen and ultimately developed, we can expect that to leave its mark and shape the world in some way.
For those who have voted or just want something a little light to take on, theEaster event is also here. The Easter Bunny needs some help to track down the special mold to make chocolate eggs, and it will be up to you to keep the holiday on track.
“Tracking down the Egg Mould will be no simple task. You’ll have to navigate through conversations with all of Gertrude’s children – and they’re a pesky bunch! They’re so pesky, in fact, that they wouldn’t even tell us where they’ve hidden the Egg Mould – so you’re on your own!”
