Offworld Industries announced with only a vague 2023 release window attached. The team has gotten more specific and revealed that the first-person shooter is coming out on May 17 in early access on PC. It still hasn’t been announced for consoles.
Starship Troopers: Extermination will launch at $24.99, but will get more expensive as Offworld adds more to the game. Players will be able to give feedback to the game in order guide where it goes and how its mechanics evolve. However, the studio has previously said that it will stay in early access for around a year and that it will add more weapons, enemy types, bosses, class upgrades, progression achievements, vehicles, community events, encounter types, and customization options.
Offworld most reiterated what it had already stated in regards to how there will be three unique classes, a building system that lets players construct different facilities, five enemy types, and large scale battles, but it also noted that the player count has been bumped up. Instead of supporting 12-player co-op, 16 players will now be able to join the bug hunt and complete objectives before extracting together. Offworld didn’t release a new trailer for this announcement, but did put out gameplay footage in February.
