EA has announced that EA Sports F1 23 will release on June 16 later this year.
Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the latest game in the F1 series features the return of the Braking Point single player story mode alongside a range of gameplay, and quality of life improvements.
This latest chapter of the Braking Point story mode will follow the careers of protagonist Devon Butler and teammate Aiden Jackson as they struggle to compete with real world racing legends as part of the Konnersport Racing Team.
“The return of Braking Point allows players to immerse themselves in a racing story, which provides a unique look at F1 alongside the authentic race features our players know and love,” commented Lee Mather, senior creative director at developer Codemasters, in a press release.
According to EA, F1 23’s gameplay will represent a significant step up from previous titles in terms of physics and race handling, which comes as a direct result of feedback from real-world F1 teams.
“Our close relationship with the teams has allowed us to refine our handling model, adding greater realism to pad-play, and implementing a new colour encoding system used in film and TV creates a more true-to-life experience,” explained Mather.
Codemasters has made a number of improvements to engine torque and vehicle inertia, while also addressing the balance between aerodynamics and tyre grip based on the team feedback. These changes should make cars more predictable while accelerating, braking and cornering.
F1 23 is set to feature each and every car, driver and circuit from the 2023 season, including tracks in Las Vagas Grand Prix and Lusail International Circuit (Qatar), along with the legacy courses Shanghai (China), Paul Ricard
