Today, South Korean studio NPIXEL revealed a fresh and visually striking gameplay trailer for its upcoming Unreal Engine 5 MMORPG, Chrono Odyssey.
The game came to light with an enticing trailer released in December 2020. After several years of quiet, NPIXEL finally shared more details about Chrono Odyssey. The game is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X, though there was no mention of cross-play or simultaneous launch.
According to the press release, NPIXEL seeks to set a new standard in the genre with Chrono Odyssey's seamless open world and dynamic action combat that, as suggested by the game's title, is based on the concept of time (and space). Apparently, it'll be possible to manipulate time and space during battles to check alternate solutions and timelines.
In the upcoming MMORPG, players can pick one of six distinct character classes: Swordsman, Paladin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Berserker, and Assassin. Each comes with unique playstyles and mechanics to facilitate cooperative gameplay and roleplaying.
Key developers from the NPIXEL team shared their intention to enable unforgettable adventures and cherished experiences for the players of Chrono Odyssey. They've also announced that renowned composer Cris Velasco (the man behind soundtracks heard in franchises like God of War, Mass Effect, Resident Evil, Bloodborne, Borderlands, Darksiders, Overwatch, Fortnite, and many more) has been hired to create music for the game.
