Although E3 2023 is not going forward, another major summer gaming event--Gamescom--is still on the books for August. The event will kick off with another edition of Geoff Keighley's Gamescom Opening Night Live, which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 22.
Keighley confirmed the date on social media, saying he's excited to return to Cologne, Germany for the show to be there with fans and industry members. Gamescom Opening Night Live is historically an event where news is announced and trailers are released, and we expect 2023 to be no different. A specific time for the event has not been confirmed, but last year's Opening Night Live showcase began at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET and ran for about two hours.

Gamescom Opening Night Live is Keighley's second major gaming event for Summer 2023, following Summer Game Fest in June. The event streams live from Los Angeles on Thursday, June 8. It will be followed by Microsoft's own Xbox Games Showcase on June 11, with a Starfield Direct event immediately after it.
E3 2023 was scheduled for June 13-16, but organizers ReedPop and the ESA recently announced that the show will not go forward due to a lack of interest.
