Google Officially Announces The Pixel Fold, And Is Quite Clever With The Flagship’s Specifications Unveiling
Though we got an earlier look at the official Pixel Fold renders, Google today has officially announced its first flagship with a unique form factor. However, the advertising giant is quite cunning when it comes to revealing all the information to its audience.
On previous occasions, when Google itself unveiled members of the Pixel lineup, the company did not make efforts to divulge its smartphones’ specifications or features. With the Pixel Fold, the story is not different at all, so apart from the design, and possible color option, we will not be provided with any additional information, at least not until May 10, when the I/O 2023 keynote kicks off.

Thankfully, Google did not need to go into the specifications bit, not when we covered a large aspect of the hardware ourselves. To start, the Pixel Fold is said to feature a 5.8-inch display that can fold out into a 7.6-inch panel, with both panels supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. According to Google, its first foldable flagship will have the most durable hinge, likely taking a jab at its potential competitors.
As for the SoC, where the Pixel Fold should have featured the new and improved Tensor G3, Google is said to stick with the Tensor G2, along with the Titan M2 security chip. Complementing the SoC is 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and that is the only variant that will be available in the market. However, there should be 256GB and 512GB storage models available to customers, but these will most likely not be expandable through a microSD card slot.
