Last week, Konami revealed that the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 remake will "star the original voice characters", which many took to mean that the studio is bringing back the actors to reprise their roles with new recordings. However, Konami's head of communications Tommy Willimas has clarified that it's simply reusing the original game's voice lines with no changes.
This was revealed to The Verge after confusion spilt out among fans. The wording left room for interpretation, and given that recent remakes like Final Fantasy 7 and Resident Evil 4 not only recorded all-new lines but with new actors and dialogue to boot, it seemed most likely that Konami meant the original actors were returning.

Given that the reveal trailer at the PlayStation Showcase was entirely CGI and showed no in-game footage, we don't know how the voice lines will sound. Konami likely has access to the uncompressed versions so that the quality is better than it was on the PS2, but it did state that it will be making no changes, so it's unclear if that means no fine-tuning.
