As DC Comics continues to hype up the already eagerly anticipatedAquaman: Andromeda, the company has released a new trailer for their latest DC Black Label book that also offers new info on the limited series. Aquaman: Andromeda promises to be submerged fully in the horror genre, as is sometimes the case for the non-canon, stand-alone stories released under DC's much darker Black Label imprint.
What audiences previously knew about Aquaman: Andromeda is that a submarine filled with soldiers, scientists, and survivalists find themselves investigating some sort of mystery at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. As it turns out, Black Manta is seeking to discover that same mystery, putting the submarine in his sights. As Aquaman finds himself in Black Manta's own crosshairs, everyone's lives may be in danger whilst pursuing this unspoken mystery within the dark depths of the abyss. Unfortunately, all appearances suggest Aquaman's latest adventure will be straight up eldritch.

Aquaman: Andromeda will be written by Ram V. with artwork from Christian Ward. In the aforementioned trailer (which can be watched in full on DC's YouTube channel), Ram V. finally identifies that mystery as an "unidentified object." In the same breath, it's also revealed that the story will essentially be positioned as the first mission where Aquaman will be discovered in this world. Among other things, it's been revealed that the first issue will release on June 7, 2022, but above all else, the trailer highlights how Aquaman has always been the perfect horror candidate for being DC's next horror icon.
