Jurassic World Dominion has dropped five official character posters giving a detailed look at each lead from the new film. The project is the sixth film in the franchise that began with Steven Spielberg's Oscar-winning 1993 sci-fi adventure film Jurassic Park, which was adapted from the Michael Crichton novel of the same name. That film, which followed an affluent businessman bringing dinosaurs back to life for a theme park, introduced the characters Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), experts in the fields of paleontology, paleobotany, and mathematics, respectively. They would go on to reprise their roles in various entries of the Jurassic Park trilogy, which ran until Jurassic Park III in 2001.
The franchise remained dormant for over a decade before it was resurrected with Jurassic World in 2015, which kicked off its own trilogy. That film starred Chris Pratt as velociraptor trainer Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard as theme park operations manager Claire Dearing, whose prickly dynamic blossomed into a romantic relationship over the course of their adventure to stop dinosaurs from rampaging through the Jurassic World theme park. The capping entry to their trilogy, Jurassic World Dominion, is coming to theaters on June 10, 2022, and will bring the original trio of Jurassic Park leads into the fray along with Owen and Claire. Although Goldblum reprised the role of Ian Malcolm during a brief cameo in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, this will mark Neill and Dern's first appearances in the new trilogy.
