Cyborg's absence in Peacemaker's Justice League cameo could be justified by a bigger role in a future DCEU release. In the DCEU, Cyborg is one of the founding members of the Justice League. His story is the heart of Zack Snyder's team-up film, connecting the Mother Boxes with the most human aspect of the team. But like Henry Cavill's Superman, Ray Fisher's Cyborg hasn't been explored beyond Zack Snyder's Justice League.
The Peacemaker finale delivered a big surprise with the return of the Justice League. However, only Ezra Miller's Flash and Jason Momoa's Aquaman made an actual appearance, as Superman and Wonder Woman were obscured by shadows. The Justice League cameo also didn't include Cyborg or Ben Affleck's Batman. But while Affleck's Batman is set to give a final goodbye to the DCEU in The Flash, Cyborg continues to have an uncertain future.

Cyborg's eventual return in a future DCEU installment can benefit from his absence in the aftermath of Peacemaker, however. A future Cyborg appearance could reveal that he was in the midst of a big one-off battle or a Justice League mission that only he could solve. It could also reveal that Cyborg broke off from the League sometime before, or that he went off-world to face a threat by himself. Either way, Cyborg's DCEU future could confirm that he no longer depends on other heroes, making him a character worthy of his own movie or TV show. It could also reveal the true scale of the DCEU since, apparently, not even the Justice League could respond to the butterfly invasion in time or with their whole lineup.
