Director Colin Trevorrow recently shared details of the dinosaur black market featured in the upcoming filmJurassic World Dominion. The new franchise sequel will be the sixth in the series dating back to 1993 with the original Jurassic Park film, based on the Michael Crichton novel of the same name. Jurassic World Dominion will see much of the original cast reprise their roles including Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant, Laura Dern as Dr. Ellie Satler, Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm, and BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu. Wong was also featured in Jurassic World, the 2015 reboot of the franchise following a 14-year hiatus.
The conclusion of the previous film in the series, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, left the well-being of the surviving dinosaurs and the world in question. After saving a number of dinosaurs from Isla Nublar following the eruption of its volcano, they were placed in auction at a black market sale to the highest bidder. Following a series of set pieces and a high-stakes battle with the beloved Velociraptor Blue, the dinosaurs are released into the American Pacific Northwest to live free in the wild. But with the case of the dinosaurs throughout the film series, the animals are never truly free.
