Jurassic World Dominion Rotten Tomatoes Score Franchise's Worst

The Rotten Tomatoes score for Jurassic World Dominion is the lowest out of the entire franchise. The upcoming film will be the sixth in the adventure series and will conclude the story which began in 1993 with Steven Spielberg's critically-acclaimed Jurassic Park. Set four years after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which saw the destruction of the original theme park by the eruption of a volcano, Jurassic World Dominion finds the remaining dinosaurs living an unrestricted existence alongside humans.

While Jurassic Park was beloved by critics and audiences around the world, the dinosaur franchise has struggled to recapture the magic that was created in the original film. Even Spielberg could not live up to his own hype with his highly-anticipated sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park, which sits at a paltry 53% critic rating and a middling 51% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Joe Johnston's 2001 follow-up, Jurassic Park III, is even worse with a 48% critic rating. Following a 14-year hiatus, the 2015 soft reboot Jurassic World showed promise for a successful revival of the franchise as it is rated the second-highest in the series with a 71% Fresh rating. However, critics have not been so kind to its two sequels.

As of this writing, Jurassic World Dominion has a franchise low rating of 39% on the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. The score of the upcoming film surpassed the series' previous lowest-ranked Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which holds a very mixed 47% critic rating. Although the current score for Jurassic World Dominion is incredibly low, the rating will fluctuate in the coming weeks as more reviews continue to pour in.
