Apple Watch Series X To Feature Thinner Design, An Upgraded Display That Goes Up To A 49mm Option, With A Switch Towards 3D-Printed Components
A multitude of changes are to be expected from the upcoming Apple Watch Series X, with one analyst providing his thoughts in his latest blog post. In addition to a thinner form factor, the individual claims that we should see the upcoming wearable introduced in a 49mm variant, up from the 45mm option.

Previously, we reported about some detailed renders of the Apple Watch Series X that were based on various rumors, with an important change talking about the wearable being 10-15 percent slimmer. Now, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has mentioned in his Medium blog that the upcoming model will sport a thinner design, along with increased display size options. With previous iterations, Apple used 41mm and 45mm displays, but with the Apple Watch Series X, we could see those dimensions increase to 45mm and 49mm.

Assuming Apple retains the same footprint, the technology giant may shrink the bezels of its upcoming smartwatch. The Cupertino giant has previously been reported to reduce the bezels of the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max by up to 40 percent using a technology called ‘Border Reduction Structure.’ It is unclear if the same method will be used for the Apple Watch Series X, but we will find out in the future. More information from the blog post talks about Apple’s plans to adopt 3D-printed components, but it is not the first time Kuo has discussed this transition.
The analyst previously stated that the next Apple Watch Ultra would feature some 3D-printed mechanical parts to reduce production costs.
