Also, the company has been extremely mum on the product, which only means that the average person does not know what they will be getting for their hard-earned $3,499, and that may be why Apple has selected a few retail employees to undergo a secret training event prior to the release of the AR headset.
The memo provided the following details for select retail employees, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentioning in the latest ‘Power On’ newsletter that this specific training will commence during the early months of 2024. This leaked information might suggest that the Apple Vision Pro launch may not happen in January but a few months later.
“Selected team members will travel and participate in an event in Cupertino, California, at some point in the first months of 2024. Upon returning to their home store, they’ll deliver training and ongoing support to store team members. This is a group opportunity for those who have a deep passion for demonstrating Apple products and teaching others.”
Gurman reports that these Apple Vision Pro training sessions are being carried out so that the retail employees can relay the information to their colleagues to better prepare them for when the mixed-reality headset officially goes on sale. It is possible Apple has limited the training sessions to a few select retail employees to prevent valuable product information from being disseminated to the wrong sources, as it does not take long for leaks and rumors to spread across social media and the internet.
