An interesting new Red Dead Redemption 2 mod for those playing the game on PC has been released - a mod that adds ambient random world events.
Created by modder 'Crossed99', this mod adds occassions random events that occur around the player. According to the modder, these events aren't centered around the player and are pretty basic. These random events, however, do make the world of RDR2 feel more lively. "The events are random, the fugitive might get away or kill the bounty hunter", the modder explains. "Shootout can happen between lawmen, bandits or civilians ect... You might end up wanted if you get involved, depending on the situation. They might happen farther away from you, you'll only hear shooting or yelling in the distance.."
The mod (which was released last month, thanks DSOGaming), currently includes three type of events that can occur: shootouts between two groups, a fight fight between two or more groups, and a bounty hunter trying to capture a certain individual.
As noted by some Nexusmod users, it's unfortuante that this mod hasn't been updated since last month as it truly has plenty of potential. As mentioned by the modder, this mod was created before his PC broke down. As such, it currently includes only a handful of random events. Let's hope that the modder decides to update this mod with additional events.
Those interested in giving this mod a go can download it from Nexusmods here.
