Two-time Oscar-winner Sir Anthony Hopkins joins Netflix's upcoming Rebel Moon movie. The sci-fi epic is being directed by Zack Snyder under his first-look partnership with the streaming service, which has also included movies like Army of the Dead. The story is based on Snyder's own screenplay, which he co-wrote with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad, drawing inspiration from the works of Akira Kurosawa and the Star Wars films. Rebel Moon commenced filming in April, and production is expected to continue until November of this year.

As announced previously, the cast for Rebel Moon includes Boutella, Skrein, Charlie Hunnam, Ray Fisher, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Staz Nair, Alfonso Herrera, Jena Malone, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, and Corey Stoll, among others.
