Lucasfilm has revealed the first Andor trailer giving viewers a look at the highly anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel series. Set five years before the events of the 2016 spinoff film, the Star Wars show will center on Cassian Andor as he goes from being a thief to becoming a rebel spy in the early days of the Rebellion. Diego Luna is returning to lead the cast of Andor in the titular role alongside fellow Star Wars vets Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera and Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma.
Alongside Luna, Whitaker and O'Reilly, Andor will mark the Star Wars franchise debuts of Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. Development on the series was first announced in 2018 as Disney and Lucasfilm began working on multiple Star Wars projects for Disney+, with Zootopia's Jared Bush originally developing Andor and Rogue One co-writer Tony Gilroy eventually becoming showrunner. With production on Andor having wrapped in late 2021, audiences are finally getting their first glimpse at the show.
