Morbius continues to take a beating as the latest episode of Screen Junkies' Honest Trailer series takes aim at the panned movie and its endless delays. The latest installment in Sony's Spider-Man Universe introduced Michael Morbius, a brilliant scientist suffering from a rare blood disorder who afflicts himself with a form of transgenic vampirism to cure himself, to the big screen. Morbius subsequently gains superhuman abilities, including all of the strengths of traditional vampires, without any of the superstitious weaknesses, save for a thirst for blood, forcing him to find a way to fix this curse before it's too late.
Jared Leto led the cast of Morbius as the titular protagonist alongside Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal and Tyrese Gibson. Michael Keaton also made a cameo appearance in the film's mid-credits sequence, reprising his role of Adrian Toomes/Vulture from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he lands in the SSU due to Doctor Strange's multiverse spell seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Hitting theaters this past April, Morbius was widely panned by critics for its lackluster script, dated storytelling and confused universe connections.
