Diego Luna, who plays the titular character in the upcoming Star Wars series Andor, has teased that the droid K-2SO might appear in season 2 of the show. Luna first played Cassian Andor in the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which also saw the first appearance of Alan Tudyk as K-2SO, a reprogrammed Imperial enforcer droid. Andor season 1 is scheduled to drop on Disney+ this coming August.
Andor will serve mainly as a prequel to Rogue One, taking place five years beforehand and centering on Luna's titular character, during a time in the Star Wars timeline in which the evil Galactic Empire maintains control of the galaxy. The series will follow Andor's journey to discover what he can bring to the Rebellion, as it is slowly gaining momentum to make a move against the Empire. Also joining the cast are Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, and Genevieve O’Reilly, who returns as the Rebellion general Mon Mothma.

Luna reminisced on the fun he had with Tudyk while working on Rogue One, professing to constantly miss him, before teasing his possible re-emergence. Read the excerpt from the interview below:
I'm always going to miss Alan Tudyk. I've missed Alan Tudyk from the moment they said wrap on the film, and I wish I could be next to him every moment of my life. But after saying that, this part of the story is five years before Rogue One. It's before Cassian has made any connection with K-2, so we'll see what happens in the next part.
