Well, after a wait of over a decade that included a brief spin-off title and a crossover in an expansion pack, Alan Wake II is set to finally arrive sometime this year. But when will we finally see some new footage of this much-anticipated sequel, or any new-oh wait, here we are. During today’s PlayStation showcase, a new trailer dropped for the game, showing what appears to be our first look at some gameplay, alongside the sudden announcement of an October release date for the game, just in time for the Halloween season.
The new trailer still focuses on a lot of the literary horrors to be faced by players, as Alan is still trapped in a writing-based hell, and it looks like we’ll be facing off against some unique horrors and heading into some different locations this time around, but one big takeaway is that it looks like there’s a new playable character this time around as well, a female FBI agent investigating things. We’ll keep things updated with more information as it comes in, but for now, get ready for when Alan Wake II arrives for PC, PS5, and XSX on October 17.
