A Dark Timeline: Lilith's Return in Diablo IV
In eons past, Sanctuary was created as a haven for Inarius and Lilith, along with their children and their followers, to escape from the conflict between Heaven and Hell. But that was in the past, and now, in a much more pressing event, Lilith has returned home — which will prove disastrous for the people of Sanctuary.
How did we get here? When did the key events leading up to this moment take place? A particularly interesting point is that the timeline from the events of the original Diablo to the return of Lilith is only a 73 year period — Sanctuary has certainly been through quite a bit in seven decades! With Humanity having bounced back from Malthael's attempted eradication in only 50 years, the resilience of Lilith's children certainly shines through — but a mother's love can be deadly.
