The open world of can be truly daunting, overwhelming beginners who may struggle to figure out the scope of what they can do. From defending the land from the RDA's pollution to harvesting rare materials, many different activities are available. The variety of options available within this game's massive map is easier to approach than you might think.
An easy way to get a better understanding of your surroundings is to turn on tutorials in the settings as you start your adventure. Doing this will pause the game whenever new information or mechanics are introduced to explain how you can move forward. For example, those with tutorials will be shown how to view the enormous map size of early, helping them find quest markers fast.
Your character has an ability called Na'vi Senses that allows you to perceive the land of Pandora differently. A glowing blue field changes your vision to highlight plants, items, creatures, enemies, and pretty much everything you can interact with within the world. This skill functions as a way to narrow down the sheer size of everything you can experience, letting you identify points of interest to pursue.
When you use your Na'vi Senses, you will discover a variety of life in all across the beautiful landscapes. When you inspect different wildlife, you can find out how to harvest it by hunting or gathering animals and plants. You can bring both back to a Cooking Station to add two ingredients you've obtained as raw materials for a meal item.
Meal items crafted from a Cooking Station restore your Energy and give your character a small buff for a short time. You won't know which plant or animal parts provide which effects from a meal produced until you cook them at least once.
