Around 600 Unity employees are losing their jobs in the latest round of layoffs at the engine giant.
That's according to The Washington Post, which reports that this is around eight per cent of the company's workforce. Per Unity's 10-K report with the SEC for the year ending December 31st, 2022, the firm employed 7,703 full-time members of staff.
This is the third round of layoffs in a year, coming in the wake of around 200 staff losing their jobs in June 2022 and 284 redundancies in January of this year.
In December 2021, Unity employed 5,245 members of staff. Considering that the total number of layoffs now stands at close-to 1,100 employees, the engine maker has slashed roughly a fifth of its workforce since the end of 2021.
Unity is also roughly halving the number of offices it has around the world from 58 to below 30.
