Capcom has revealed they will be holding a special Street Fighter 6 Showcase event next week.
They made this announcement on Twitter:

This showcase event seems to be the big one where Capcom will lay out all the details for the game. While we do have a general idea of what the game will have to offer, there is still something of an air of mystery around it.
We definitely won’t know everything until the game actually releases, but in between, this is the big opportunity Capcom has to win over, not only the dedicated fighting game community, and the hardcore fans, but gamers who aren’t fans of fighting games at all.
Is there reason to believe Street Fighter 6 will be different than previous Street Fighter games, or other fighting games in the market today? I think so.
The seeming stereotype for fighting games now is that arena fighting games, like Super Smash Bros, are the kind that everyone wants to play, while older games like Street Fighter and Tekken have become too complicated for most gamers to really get into. This is why, instead of getting a new Marvel versus Capcom, we received Multiversus and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl instead.
The developers of these older fighting games have adapted by turning their games around for the enthusiast and competitive communities. Capcom itself is at the forefront of making fighting games into esports with the Capcom Pro Tour.
