The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is off to a strong start, becoming the second-biggest Nintendo launch in the UK, trailing only Wii Fit + Balance Board (in terms of revenue). In the UK, Tears of the Kingdom is the biggest retail launch in Zelda history.
It's worth noting that the Wii Fit + Balance Board bundle was $90 at launch in 2008, compared to Tears of the Kingdom, which costs $70. This news comes by way of GfK via GamesIndustry.biz, which notes that Tears of the Kingdom is also the fourth-biggest boxed launch in the UK in terms of the number of units sold, trailing only Pokemon Sun and Moon, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and Wii Fit + Balance Board.

Now Playing: The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Video Review
Tears of the Kingdom's launch week sales are already 50% more than Hogwarts Legacy, and has sold nearly 3 times as many copies as Breath of the Wild in its first week on the market. Keep in mind, these stats only take boxed copies into consideration, as Nintendo doesn't share digital sales data.
According to GfK, Tears of the Kingdom is already the eighth-best-selling Zelda game ever in the UK, which is noteworthy since it's been out less than a week. It already outsold Skyward Sword and The Wind Waker in a matter of days in that territory.
