The Young Sheldon season 5 finale has a secret The Big Bang Theory Easter egg, and it's so much better than the Flash shirt that appears within the episode. Sheldon (Iain Armitage) became the center of the CBS sitcom again just before it wrapped its year. Instead of focusing on Georgie's (Montana Jordan) predicament or the Coopers' deteriorating marriage, Young Sheldon season 5 finale tackled Sheldon's fear of the future. This gave the show the opportunity to reference his life on The Big Bang Theory.
After weeks of scrambling about Georgie's unexpected pregnancy news. the Coopers were finally getting acclimated to the situation. Unfortunately, more problems came their way, primarily both George (Lance Barber) and Mary (Zoe Perry) losing jobs. In Young Sheldon's season 5 finale, his family's various issues started to bother Sheldon. The appearance of his first pimple caused the boy genius to fear the future, seeing what the adults in his family had to deal with.

Luckily for Sheldon, Missy (Raegan Revord) was there to support him in Young Sheldon season 5 finale. This gave him a new perspective of what the future might be, inspiring him to wear his first Flash shirt, styled the same way he did in the geek-centric sitcom. This wasn't the only The Big Bang Theory reference in the Young Sheldon season 5 finale, however. During Sheldon and Missy's conversation, the socially-inept genius enumerated everything he wanted to do when he grows up.
