Amidst all the family crises that the Coopers experienced throughout the year, Sheldon's (Iain Armitage) twin sister remained the most steadfast and level-headed among the family. This highlights just how far she's come as a character, especially after her breakdown in the Young Sheldon season 4 finale.
CBS' number 1 comedy wrapped up its fifth year on a less eventful note. Following weeks of consecutive problems which all stemmed from Georgie's (Montana Jordan) unexpected pregnancy news, the Coopers were finally getting used to their new predicament. Things got worse for them, however, as both Mary (Zoe Perry) and George (Lance Barber) both lost their jobs, plunging the clan into a direr financial situation. While Georgie minded his own business, Sheldon struggled with his academics as the constant infighting at home distract him. Throughout it all, Missy maintained her calm demeanor and even provided emotional support to some of her family members.

Looking back at Missy's role in Young Sheldon season 5, it seems like CBS planned on redeeming her after her previous questionable actions. In Young Sheldon season 4, she suffered her first heartbreak after seeing Marcus hang out with another girl at school. This negatively impacted Missy that she started lashing out at home, resulting in her running away from home. Sheldon was there to help her, but that decision was objectively foolish.
