The co-creator of Ms. Marvel revealed that Kamala Khan's grandmother's name is a very sweet Easter egg. Both the original Marvel comics character and series proved an instant hit with critics and fans alike, spurring Kamala's introduction into various visual Marvel media. Now, the latest MCU Disney+ television series stars Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, a Captain Marvel super-fan who, through the mysterious bangle sent to her by her grandmother, is imbued with cosmic powers. As with the character's initial comic book run, Ms. Marvel has enjoyed near universal critical acclaim from its viewers, making it the highest-ranked MCU entry on Rotten Tomatoes.
Ms. Marvel episode 4 saw Kamala and her mother Muneeba Khan (Zenobia Shroff) travel to Karachi, Pakistan at the request of Kamala's grandmother, Sana (Samina Ahmad). In episode 3, both Kamala and Sana experienced the same vision of a train following an attack by the group of inter-dimensional beings known as the ClanDestines. Having only been introduced via video call up until Ms. Marvel episode 4, Sana hopes that Kamala returning to her ancestral home in Pakistan will help her to unlock the secrets of her past and the mystery behind the powerful bangle.

In a recent interview with EW, Sana Amanat revealed that Kamala's grandmother's name is a very sweet Easter egg. Although the character was not originally named in the comics, the Ms. Marvel creator shared that the writers of the Disney+ show named Sana after her.
