Contrary to recent reports, it sounds like DC Studios has no plans for a Gal Gadot-led at this time.
Variety has revealed that James Gunn and Peter Safran at DC Studios currently have no plans for Wonder Woman projects beyond the Paradise Lost prequel series that is being made for Max. According to the outlet’s sources, a third Wonder Woman film isn’t in development at this time, which goes against what Gadot said in an interview prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
“I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran,” Gadot previously told Flaunt. “And what they told me, and I’m quoting: ‘You’re in the best hands. We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman — you’ve got nothing to worry about.’ So time will tell.”
The outlet’s sources note that “nothing was ever promised to Gadot regarding Wonder Woman 3” and that there was no “definitive discussion” of Gadot’s version of the character carrying over into the new DC Universe.
Gal Gadot first played Wonder Woman in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before leading two Wonder Woman solo movies and appearing in both versions of the Justice League film, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and most recently, The Flash.
