The modern adaptation of has unveiled a new video showing Christopher Abbott’s gruesome transformation as the titular monster.
Wolf Man is an upcoming reboot of the classic George Waggner-directed 1941 horror movie. It is written and directed by Upgrade, The Invisible Man, and Insidious Chapter 3 filmmaker Leigh Whannell.
The latest installment in The Wolf Man franchise will center on a family’s relocation from San Francisco to Oregon after the patriarch, Blake (played by Abbott), inherited his childhood home. But their attempt for a new life suddenly took an unexpected turn when a werewolf attacked them, leaving Blake harmed. Blake then begins transforming into something that may pose a threat to his wife and daughter.
In addition to Abbott, Wolf Man also stars Julia Garner (Apartment 7A, Inventing Anna) as Blake’s wife Charlotte, and Matilda Firth (Coma, Subservience) as Blake and Charlotte’s daughter, Ginger. The rest of the cast includes Sam Jaeger, Ben Prendergast, Benedict Hardie, Zac Chandler, Beatriz Romilly, and Milo Cawthorne.

The highly anticipated reboot was originally scheduled for theatrical release on October 15, 2024, but was later pushed to January 17, 2025. It is rated R for “bloody violent content and grisly images” as well as “some language.”
