Developer KingsIsle Entertainment has announced an upcoming single-player visual novel prequel to the popular Wizard101 MMORPG, titled Ravenwood Academy: A Wizard101 Story. While Wizard101 is a perfect introduction to MMORPGs, Ravenwood Academy will shift focus to a solo gaming experience, offering fans a brand-new way to enjoy the world of the Spiral.
First released in 2008, Wizard101 quickly became one of the most popular MMORPGs for its family-friendly story, magical gameplay mechanics, and immersive world, the Spiral. To build upon the story and universe of Wizard101, KingsIsle Entertainment is readying to release the prequel Ravenwood Academy: A Wizard101 Story, making a massive shift from online multiplayer to a visual novel.
For the first time ever, fans of Wizard101 will get to explore the Spiral in a single-player experience with Ravenwood Academy: A Wizard101 Story. Ravenwood Academy will feature a mixture of life-sim and visual novel gameplay, with unique opportunities to interact with the world and characters they encounter. This prequel title is set within the same Spiral universe as Wizard101 and will feature some familiar faces and beloved settings. Players will need to find a balance between class life and extracurricular activities, including some mysterious opportunities where they will need to flex their detective skills. Relationships will also play a key role, with the ability to make friends and enemies, while perhaps even developing a budding romance. Each decision the player makes will influence their journey through Ravenwood Academy, leading them to one of many possible endings in the «untold story» of this Wizard101 prequel.
