has been cast as MCU’s. Following rumors suggesting names including Javier Bardem and Antonio Banderas, Marvel reportedly picked the British actor to play The Fantastic Four’s villain.
Ineson is known for his notable gigs in Chernobyl, The Witch, and Game of Thrones, among others. He also played a Ravager in MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Now, he has confirmed his second and bigger MCU role with a new tease.
The Green Knight star took to X (formerly Twitter) reacting to his MCU casting announcement. He confirmed his addition by promising to see what he could make from the abilities he had been granted as Galactus. Ineson wrote:
World devouring cosmic villain is it? I’ll see what I can do https://t.co/QhCk2v8VCc
The 54-year-old Galactus actor is known for his iconic voice. Whether he’d be physically involved in portraying Galactus with or without motion capture is yet to be revealed. But Marvel is expected to make good use of his voice talents. Due to that, people across social media have also supported his inclusion as The Fantastic Four villain.
Replying to Ineson’s tease on X — formerly Twitter, fans have shared positive feedback on Marvel’s decision to cast him. Many are excited to see what he can do with the character and have even referred to his addition as “perfect” and “genius casting.”
One X user is confident that he will be “crushing it” as Galactus. Another user implied it as a big win.
Besides Ineson, The Fantastic Four is also confirmed to star Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer. John Malkovich and Paul Walter Hauser have also been added in mysterious undisclosed roles.
Marvel’s The Fantastic Four is scheduled to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
