Microsoft is reportedly considering bringing a newly remastered version of Halo Combat Evolved to PlayStation.
That’s according to a new report from The Verge, which claims that the project is in the early stages of development at Xbox.
It says the game is one of several titles that’s being weighed up for inclusion in Microsoft’s new multiplatform push, which is codenamed “Project Latitude” internally.
While it already had a strong foothold on rival platforms thanks to perennial best-sellers Call of Duty and Minecraft, Xbox recently announced plans to bring additional titles to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, starting with Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves and Grounded.
According to The Verge, Hellblade 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and a new Doom game that’s expected to be announced at Sunday’s Xbox Games Showcase could also potentially come to PS5.
A new Gears of War game that’s also reportedly set to be revealed at the Xbox show, and the previously announced Fable, aren’t currently being considered for Project Latitude releases, it’s claimed.
According to Windows Central sources, as of this month, the new Gears of War, Age of Mythology Retold, Avowed, South of Midnight, Hellblade 2 and Starfield aren’t in active development for PlayStation, even if they might be being “considered” for Sony platforms.
The site was also able to corroborate that the next Doom game is coming to PlayStation.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently said he wouldn’t ever want to rule out any game going to another platform.
