Summer Game Fest 2024’s kick-off show is taking place on Friday and you’ll be able to watch it live here.
Promising world premieres, gameplay demos and announcements, the two-hour event will take place in front of an audience at the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California.
Kicking off at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm BST / 11pm CEST, it will be viewable live on major streaming sites such as YouTube and Twitch, including via the YouTube video embedded at the top of this page.
“Featuring updates from the world’s top game development studios”, the showcase will be “largely focused” on previously announced games scheduled for release this year, according to event producer and host Geoff Keighley, who recently posted an initial list of 55 companies set to participate in Summer Game Fest.
He’s confirmed that there’ll be a big update on what’s coming next for Palworld, while Atlus will take to the stage to discuss Metaphor: ReFantazio and Capcom will show off Monster Hunter Wilds.
There’ll also be a new Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 trailer, the gameplay world premiere of Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama’s Slitterhead, and Blumhouse Games will be on stage to discuss its entry into the horror gaming space.
“There are absolutely new game announcements throughout the show, but just to level set, it’s not all brand new stuff,” Keighley said during a recent Q&A session. “It tends to be things that are coming out later this year.
“And there are things that we’ll announce that will come out later this year that haven’t been announced yet, but this is not a show that has a lot of like, you know, coming in 2026 or 2027, or teasers for games that are years and years out. I’m trying to think, every time is different, but that’s generally what I would say just in terms of expectation setting.”
