Yooka-Replaylee announced as the definitive edition of Yooka-Laylee
thesixthaxis.comYooka-Laylee is getting the definitive edition treatment with an updated version called Yooka-Replaylee, Playtonic Games has revealed. This updated version of the open world 3D platformer will have improved graphics, new challenges, a brand new in game currencny, a world map and challenge trackers, and new tonics.
Yooka-Replaylee has been borne from the feedback the development team have received over the years from players, with Playtonic stating that this release is more than just a remaster. With all of the additional content, new and old players will have more to discover. In a statement, Playtonic Games has said why it is working on this now.
“Well, we’re approaching our 10th Birthday as a studio and as we’ve grown and learned, we’ve always wanted to revisit the game that started it all and what better way to celebrate reaching 10 years?! That’s no easy feat in the current games landscape! We’re incredibly proud of Yooka-Laylee and how it defines Playtonic but we’d be lying if we said we haven’t always wanted to go back and do things a little differently.”
Yooka-Replaylee does not have a release date yet, and so far just the PC version has been announced. However, Playtonic Games has said it will outline its plans for console releases at a later date.
