Wimo CEO confirms studio closure
pcgamesinsider.bizThe CEO of Wimo Games, Dave Rosen, has confirmed that the VR studio is closing down.
In an emailed statement, the exec said that the company is already in the process of winding down. This follows Kotaku reporting that WIMO was set to shut its doors in the near future.
“I can confirm that this week we began winding down operations at Wimo Games," Rosen wrote.
"It’s been an incredible three years working with this fantastic team and this is not the outcome we had hoped for.
"We’re immensely proud of our work on RPG Dice: Heroes of Whitestone, Battle Bows, and most recently, Micro Machines: Mini Challenge Mayhem. We’re grateful to each and every player that bought the games our team poured so much of their hard work into.
Our passionate and incredibly talented team members will be looking for new jobs and were provided severance to assist in the transition. We appreciate our players and the many organisations who have collaborated with us so much.”
Wimo was set up in 2021.
