Who will make iPhone 14 screens? Apple to rely on BOE

We've already heard several rumors about many potential differences between the Pro and non-pro models of iPhone 14. Both the models are likely to have differences from cameras to chipsets. Now a recent report has suggested another potential difference in the display of both the models. As per Chinese site MyDrivers, Apple has cracked a deal with Chinese display maker BOE to manufacture screens for the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, while other models i.e, iPhone 14 Max and the iPhone 14 Pro are likely to rely on Samsung and LG for their screens.

BOE has made screens for Vivo, Huawei and Oppo phones. The company has also been manufacturing replacement versions, as well as panels for previous-gen iPhones. But this would be the first time when it will provide panels for current-generation iPhones. Besides the unannounced iPhone 14 series, the company is also making panels for new iPads and MacBooks.

The display of iPhone 14 might be made by BOE but the report suggests that it won't look too far different from one made by LG or Samsung for the Pro, Pro Max or Max.

Moreover, BOE is also likely to supply OLED LTPO displays for the higher-end models of the iPhone 15 lineup in 2023.
