WhatsApp has recently rolled out a new update that allows users to add up to 32 participants in a group voice call. The Meta-owned messaging app released a new update version 22.8.80 for Android and iOS users with the same feature. Earlier the WhatsApp group voice call was limited to eight participants only. Do note that you can't add people whom you have blocked on such calls, or people who have blocked you. Also, the quality of group voice calls depends on strength and quality of internet connection. Here is all you need to know about WhatsApp group voice calls.
To make a group voice call, users are required to be a part of the group chat that has 33 or more members. If the group has less than 33 members, then users will have to open the group chat, and tap on the voice call option. During the call, the first seven people who will pick it up, join first and then the rest of the participants can be added.
WhatsApp is a good alternative to Zoom for smaller groups. It is available for both iOS and Android, so you can easily chat with or call people. Though WhatsApp is accessible via browser or desktop app, you can make and answer voice calls on mobile only. The interface looks a little different on Android and on iPhones, but the basic steps for how to make group calls on WhatsApp are similar. Check it out here:
