Sony is prepping a new pair of earbuds that will carry the LinkBuds name, but unlike the first LinkBuds earbuds announced in Feb. 2022, which have an atypical design, these have a traditional look. Sony seems to be switching to LinkBuds as the brand name for its earbuds, much like Apple uses AirPods for its line of earbuds. This makes sense as its previous naming scheme uses a combination of alphabets and numbers was a mouthful and considered confusing by some folks.
Sony's audio products are highly sought after for their impressive noise-canceling feature. Its premium headphones, the WH-1000XM4, are among the best noise-canceling headphones on the market and are expected to get a successor soon. Now, it appears it will be arriving alongside a new pair of earbuds too.

The upcoming earbuds will be available in at least two color options with a dual-tone finish and matching cases, as shown in images shared on Twitter by the leaker that goes by SnoopyTech (@_snoopytech_). The earbuds will reportedly launch as the LinkBuds S (WF-LSN900), and they are shown sporting silicone tips and not the high-end polyurethane foam earbud tips present on the more premium WF-1000XM4 model. The LinkBuds S not only differs from the first LinkBuds based on design alone but also in terms of features.
