Instant messaging app WhatsApp, is reportedly testing a new feature that will allow users to share their profiles via URL on social networking sites. The new feature has been spotted in the beta update 2.22.9.8 versions for android users. As of now, WhatsApp allows its users to set up a QR code to connect people without sharing their mobile number. However, as per the report shared by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, the new update will replace the QR Code tab with a new share icon allowing users to create a link for their profile and chat via a single tap. The new feature icon will be visible next to the profile picture on the settings tab. This will allow other people to open your profile right within their WhatsApp application and quickly start a chat with you, but without having your number.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to create your WhatsApp QR code on android phones as well as Apple iPhones.
Step 1: Open the WhatsApp application on your android phone.
Step 2: Next, click on the three-dot button available in the top right corner of the screen.
Step 3: You will be redirected to the menu options, there tap on the settings.
Step 4: Next, tap on the QR code icon available on the WhatsApp account name.
Step 5: There you’ll see a share icon at the top to save the QR code into your gallery. Now you can share it on social media or any contacts.
