Apple's iOS 18.1 will be a major upgrade considering the number of front-facing changes it will bring for the iPhone, and we have been expecting the update for a while now. At the WWDC event in June, Apple showcased all the new AI features it will bring to the iPhone, and it appears that the update is right around the corner. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has shared that the company will release an iOS 18.1 update for the iPhone on October 28 with most of the Apple Intelligence features onboard.
Currently, iOS 18.1 is in its developmental phase, and some of the Apple Intelligence features are already available to developers for testing purposes. However, Gurman notes in his Power On newsletter that the company has finally set a date for its big Apple Intelligence release. Since the update is quite significant, the company is taking its time to curate bugs and offer a smooth release.
It was previously speculated that the iOS 18.1 update will be released for the iPhone on October 15, as the company has released older updates during the same time frame. This time around, we have Apple Intelligence to thank for a slightly later date, as the company requires more work for its AI features that will be coming along with it.
iOS 18.1 will bring the first wave of Apple Intelligence features to the iPhone, and most of these features will be shared by the Apple Watch and the Mac. Apple Intelligence consists of various AI models working together for a streamlined user experience, and one of the most highly anticipated additions is the new Siri.
