Model behavior.

It's all systems go for Starfield as its September 6 release date draws closer, and with Bethesda looking to promote the game in the few weeks left, the studio recruited spacesuit enthusiast--and former Mythbuster--Adam Savage and his Tested team for a special project. Bethesda tasked Savage and his team to recreate a scale model of the Frontier ship that players will unlock early in the game.
The primary goal was to create a spaceship model that was fit for filming with motion control. This project took the Tested crew weeks to complete, as they had to overcome several challenges.
Digital files of the spaceship had to be converted and polished up before they could be 3D-printed, building a durable frame for the parts required several passes, and assembling everything into a space-worthy vessel highlighted crucial changes that needed to be made. This hour-long video is only the first part of the build and ends with a dry-fit version of the spaceship being assembled.
Starfield officially launches on September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X|S, and Bethesda has confirmed that the game has gone gold. Preloading on console will be available starting August 17 on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the Steam version getting preloading on August 30.
