In the midst of all the chaos surrounding Vivo India and the ED, cricketer Virat Kohli has revealed a new V series smartphone expected to launch in India soon. Rumours suggest that this is going to be the Vivo V25 Pro, the successor to the Vivo V23 Pro that was launched earlier in the year. Kohli in his post does not reveal the specs or even the name of the phone, but he does reveal the colour (which is obviously visible in the photo as well) – blue.
A closer look at the image and it seems the Vivo V25 Pro could be largely based on the Vivo S15 Pro from the Chinese market. Vivo V series phones have always been based on the S series phones from China and we doubt it is going to be any different for this one. The camera module arrangement as well as the overall design of the phone look similar to the S15 Pro from the commercial images.
Rumours suggest that Vivo is bringing the entire V25 series to India, which includes three models – the Vivo V25e, Vivo V25 and Vivo V25 Pro. The phones are expected to launch in India on August 18.
Given that Vivo V25 Pro could be a rebranded version of the Vivo S15 Pro, you could expect the same features such as a 6.56-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1500 nits peak brightness. Vivo could be using the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset that will be paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone is also said to rely on a 4500mAh battery that comes with support for 80W fast charging.
Lastly, the cameras could see an upgrade from the older version. The triple camera system on the back consists of a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP portrait camera. It could also get a 32MP selfie camera at the front.
