Netflix just dropped Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’ first official trailer, showcasing the dangers of Night City, how David came to be an Edgerunner, and just what kind of crew he hooks up with after his mother is gunned down in the street.
We first start with Night City in all its gruesome glory. David is enjoying some “wild” nuggets, which appear to be downloaded memories from gangsters getting gunned down by the police. David’s mother doesn’t seem too pleased with his pastime, encouraging him to become a corporate elite by reaching "the top floor of Arasaka tower."

That dream gets crushed after a minigun opens up on David and his mother. After that, David gets chromed up and joins a crew as an Edgerunner, an outlaw mercenary for hire willing to take on any job if the money is good.
Joining David are a colorful band of miscreants, including the chromed-up Maine, the revolver-touting Dorio, and the deadly Kiwi. But it’s Lucy that David seems to fall for, promising to take her to the moon before the two share a passionate kiss.
David seems more than a little naive when he first starts. Impressed by their abilities, he seems to dismiss the mortal dangers of the profession. He doesn’t even know the value of the jobs he pulls at first, but one suspects he learns fast. Especially since the series is expected to be just ten episodes.
We’re also introduced to a string of villainous characters, including at least one corporate overload who seems to have an asymmetrical assortment of eyes. One suspects he might have had something to do with the death of David’s mother and the dangerous path he now walks.
